OUR MISSION

STL is dedicated to making God more visible in this world:

  • Physically - through providing vision and health care

  • Spiritually - through spreading of the faith as it has been passed down to us

  • Intellectually - through teaching and assisting people with life skills

OUR BELIEFS

"And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'" - Mt 25:40

It is our duty to use the gifts we’ve been blessed with to engage in the works of mercy. “The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities.” (CCC 2447) “If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,’ but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?” - James 2:16 -17

OUR HISTORY

STL was founded in 2011 by Dr. Kelly Kao. Dr. Kao was inspired through her experience on mission trips to underserved areas in different countries. Kelly created STL as a platform to more easily bring together the needs of the underprivileged in the world and the talents to serve them. STL seeks to provide healthcare, general life skills education and catechesis or the teachings of the Catholic faith to everyone.

  • Service - Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve

  • Compassion - Love one another like yourself

  • Professionalism - Excellence in quality of service, communication, and building of community
